Wow the response to the Wanderer Tunic has been overwhelming! I'm truly so grateful for all the wonderful testers that helped make this pattern fantastic! I designed this pattern with the double banded, 3/4 length sleeves in mind, eventually adding long and short options. I had no idea though when I sent it off to testing that I would eventually end up with 10 sleeve options in this pattern. My testers did such an amazing job of using their creativeness to make each one of their tops truly unique. I love them all!! Get ready for a picture overload....
I'm feeling quite accomplished this week -- I've already finished Harbor's Easter skirt! I'm always the one to procrastinate until just a few hours before an outfit is needed to get it done. Not this time though! Thanks to the pattern swap I signed up for last month, I was able to get ahead on a holiday outfit, yay! The pattern swap is going on all this week, so make sure to check out the other blogs at the end of this post.
The Wanderer Tunic is so close to be ready! I'm looking for several testers that will be able to help me test soon!
Testing will begin Friday, January 16th and run through Tuesday, January 20th.
Harbor's first dance performance -- CUTEST and funniest thing I've ever seen!
I'm so excited to share with you all my daughter's Elsa inspired Soho Maxi! Harbor had her first ballet performance a few weeks ago and it made my year (be sure to catch the video at the end of this post)!
Testing is just too much fun! I get so excited every time I receive a notification during testing...hoping it's another tester posting their awesomeness! I'm part of so many sewing groups and I can see the same pattern sewn by a thousand different people and it still amazes me every. single. time. It's so thrilling to see designs in a new light, with different fabrics and personal touches on it...I LOVE it!
Today I am participating in the pattern tour for the Ballard by Straight Stitch Designs! It's available exclusively at Indiesew right now and is a perfect addition to your fall wardrobe. I am so excited it is finally cooling down a bit here...just so I can wear this top!
The Soho Maxi Pattern is almost ready for testing! I'm looking for several testers that will be able to help me test this next week.
Testing will begin Thursday, October 23rd and run through Wednesday, October 29th.
I'll be honest with you...I hardly ever sew for myself -- ok, like pretty much never! Ever since my sweet little girl was born 3 years ago, I have been strictly sewing for her, my niece and my Etsy shop. Of course I do have quite a few Coachella Shorts in my closet now, but that's about it as far as handmade clothing goes. Nothing has really sparked my interest where I said "I HAVE to make that for myself"...until I saw Kimberly, of Straight Stitch Designs, post the tester call for her Ravenna Top.
The Women's Coachella Shorts were released just over a week ago. Yes, I know...I'm a little late on posting the tester round-up! For those of you that don't know...I also have a shop on Etsy, The Striped Swallow, where I make and sell custom birthday outfits. Keeping up with orders and sewing a bazillion Disney outfits has kept me a little preoccupied this last week. (We are headed to Walt Disney World next month to celebrate Harbor's 3rd Birthday and I might be a little ecstatic!)
Here we go again! I'm looking for several awesome ladies to help me test the women's version of the Coachella Shorts next week.
Testing will begin August 5th and run through August 9th.
Wow! I still can't believe I launched my first pattern last week. I wanted to share with you all the fantastic tester photos.
A HUGE thank you goes out to all my amazing testers and to Lauren Dahl of Pattern Workshop. They were all so supportive and Lauren's course gave me all the tools I needed to make my design come to life. If you are interested in designing your own patterns, go check out Pattern Workshop (I can not say enough wonderful things about this course)!!
I have to admit the testing phase was a blast and not as terrifying as I once had thought it would be! One of the most exciting moments of testing (one which I will never forget) was when I received Sophie's email after sending out the pattern. Her Coachella Shorts were the first pair to show up in my inbox and it was such an amazing feeling!
